Shopify Liquid Prompt Builder
Get Shopify code that uses sections, stays editable in the theme editor and does not need another app. Pick what you are building, describe what a shopper should see, and this writes the prompt.
Your prompt
Duplicate your theme and work on the copy. Shopify has no undo for a theme file you overwrote.
The three things AI gets wrong in Shopify
- It hard-codes. Text and images baked into the Liquid instead of exposed as section settings, so every change needs a developer again.
- It writes for the old architecture. Much of the training data predates Online Store 2.0, so you get template edits where you wanted a section.
- It prints prices as numbers. Skipping the money filters breaks currency and format the moment you sell in a second market.
The prompt names all three as rules, which is what moves the output from plausible to usable.
Duplicate your theme first
Shopify has no undo for a theme file you overwrote. Duplicate the live theme, work on the copy, preview it, then publish. This costs thirty seconds and has saved more stores than any other habit.
Test the empty states
The prompt asks for them because they are what breaks in production: a sold-out product, one with no image, a collection with nothing in it, a metafield nobody filled in. Code that assumes the happy path looks fine in a demo and fails on the first real catalogue.
If the question is really which platform you should be on, Shopify versus WooCommerce in India compares them in rupees, and what Shopify actually costs covers the fees that are not on the pricing page. We build stores on both: Shopify development.
Will this work on any theme?
The prompt is written for Online Store 2.0 themes such as Dawn. On an older theme, say so in the theme field and expect template edits instead of sections.
Can AI write a Shopify app?
That is a different job from theme code. This tool is for Liquid, sections and storefront behaviour.
Why does it insist on theme editor settings?
Because the alternative is calling a developer every time you want to change a heading, which is the thing that makes a store expensive to own.
Is it safe to paste theme code back in?
On a duplicated theme, yes. Preview it, check a sold-out product and one with no image, then publish.
Want it built properly instead?
E-commerce builds from ₹60,000, configured and tested rather than installed.
