SEO Content Brief Prompt Builder
Get a content brief out of an AI instead of an article. The brief is the useful part: an outline, what each section must cover, and the specifics that make a page worth reading. You write the article.
Your prompt
This asks for a brief, not an article. Write the article from it yourself, or you publish the same page as everybody else.
Why not just ask for the article
Because you will get the same article as everybody else. A model asked to write about a keyword produces the average of what already ranks, and the average is what you are trying to beat. Nothing in it will be a number only you know, a mistake only you see weekly, or a price only you publish.
A brief turns the model into what it is good at: structure, coverage and the questions people ask. The part that makes the page yours still has to come from you.
The field that matters most
The one marked what you know that they do not say. Leave it blank and you get a competent outline for a page with no reason to exist. Fill it with something real and every section has somewhere to go.
What the prompt asks for
- The one sentence that answers the search directly, which is what gets quoted in an AI answer.
- An H2 outline with several headings phrased as real questions.
- What each section must cover, and roughly how long.
- Five FAQ questions with short answers.
- The specifics the page needs: numbers, prices, steps, names.
- What to link to internally.
It also tells the model not to pad and not to invent statistics, which are the two failure modes of AI content. If a section exists only to hit a word count it is asked to say so and cut it.
After the brief
Write it yourself, or have somebody who knows the subject write it. If you want the search research behind the brief rather than guessing at the keyword, that is what SEO services covers, and this piece explains what good monthly work looks like.
Will AI content rank?
Google judges the page, not how it was written. Generic content does badly because it is generic, not because a model produced it. The brief is aimed at that difference.
Why does it ask what already ranks?
So the outline is built to beat specific pages rather than an imaginary average. Paste two or three real titles from the results.
Can I use this for a service page?
Yes. Set the intent to finding somebody to hire and the brief changes shape accordingly.
How long should the article be?
As long as the question needs. The field sets a target so the outline is proportioned, not so you pad to a number.
Would rather we did the search work?
Tell us what you sell and where. We will tell you which searches are worth writing for and which are not.
